How to Grow in Devotion

LOVE FOR GOD:
1. I am reading God’s Word daily.
2. I have a daily prayer time and plan.
3. I try daily to sit before the Lord and listen for the still small voice of Jesus rather than focusing on listing my desires for Him to fulfill.
4. I pray daily to be filled with the Holy Spirit.
5. I am systematically memorizing God’s Word.
6. I am writing out key passages and meditating on God’s Word for application to my life.
7. I have a dated prayer request list for people and requests.
8. I am giving a significant portion of my income to God’s work as an act of obedience and devotion.
9. I maintain an attitude of worship throughout the day and listen to music, psalms and hymns to strengthen my walk with God
10. I am putting off things in my life that hurt and limit the Holy Spirit’s work in my life.

2. I have discovered my spiritual gift and use it to build up others in the body of Christ.

5. I am guarding against the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and the pride of life.
6. I reflect daily on the importance of other believers in God’s eyes and am growing in love for them.

7. I am praying daily for the Holy Spirit to provide opportunities to show and share the good news of the gospel to those I encounter.
8. I have prepared a simple explanation of the gospel to share with others as God opens the door.
9. I am extending love and forgiveness to my enemies.
10. I am investing my life in others and showing them how to be a disciple by my actions.
